>>Are you saying it is stuck on defrost? Quick answer: Door mode actuators fail on all cars, consistently. However at this point I am going to guess the panel or a sensor is bad because it sounds like it blows out the vents when you are in diagnostic mode, which would indicate good door mode actuators. Long answer: Forgive me if I interpreted this wrong from the quote but I have never heard of anyone attempting to cool their car with A/C through the defrost unless it was stuck there, but maybe that is what you meant. (The compressor only runs on defrost to dry the incoming air, not to cool it) If you select "defrost" on "auto" the car is going to think you need to heat the windshield up to get rid of winter frost, or fog from rain/humidity. If you have the temp turned down, and have it blowing as cold as possible right on the windshield, then you have cold air blowing on a hot/warm surface, which is going to cause condensation. There could also be a cause to condensation that is not normal, if the water drain hose from the A/C unit under the dash is plugged, the water will stay inside the box and cause humidity, or drip inside the car, there should be a pretty good sized 5-10" wide puddle of clear water drip on the ground underneath the passenger side of the car on a hot day if the drain is not clogged. Other possible issues-the cabin air temp sensor may be bad, the ambient temperature sensor in the front fascia, the sunlight sensor on the dash, or a door actuator is not working-stuck open or closed, or the controller panel itself could be bad (I had to replace one once in my previous '90)
